This study is focused on the use of entry bans and readmission agreements by Member States in their efforts to implement effective return policies, identifying any examples of good practice.
This Study focuses on entry bans and readmission agreements and is as such mainly concerned with the implementation of an effective return process. Whilst reintegration assistance is indispensable for ensuring the sustainability of returns, Member State approaches to reintegration assistance are not included in the scope of this Focused Study. The synergies between entry bans and readmission agreements, on the one hand, and reintegration assistance on the other hand, will be explored.

The objective of the French Contact Point study is to analyze the implementation of entry bans and readmission agreements in France. In particular, it aims to evaluate their effectiveness for ensuring sustainable return, by identifying the challenges and good practices.
The study describes the legal framework and the procedure regarding (re-)entry bans for third-country nationals and gives information on numbers and characteristics of persons intercepted at the Federal borders against whom a (re-)entry was imposed. The Study pursues the aim of overviewing the rules for imposing entry bans as applicable in Lithuania and assessing the extent of application of readmission agreements.
This study explores Luxembourg’s entry bans policy and use of readmission agreements as well as their links with reintegration assistance. The first part of this study will deal with entry bans. In Luxembourg a return decision can be accompanied by an entry ban for a maximum period of 5 years, even though in practice they are imposed for a period of 3 years.

The aim of this study is to understand the extent to which Member States use entry bans and readmission agreements to enhance their national return policy. Study explores legal and practical application of entry bans and readmission agreements in the Republic of Slovenia in order to improve understanding of policy makers how these measures enhance return policies, share knowledge among Member States and support the development of best practices, policies and programs that would ensure effective and sustainable return.
